Tribute to Her Majesty, The Queen

The Transport North East team is saddened at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We wish to express our gratitude for her devotion and long service to our country.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time of great sadness.

Councillor Martin Gannon, Chair, North East Joint Transport Committee and Leader of Gateshead Council, said: “It was with immense sadness that we received the news of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen, after 70 years serving as monarch. The nation has lost a beloved Sovereign and the Royal Family has lost a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.”
