Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) 2
Transport North East, working in partnership with Arriva North East, Go North East and Stagecoach North East, recently submitted an application to the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Zero Emission Buses Regional Areas 2 programme (ZEBRA 2).
If successful, this funding will help to deliver 43 brand new zero emission buses on routes which serve parts of Durham, Gateshead and Newcastle. Winning bids are expected to be confirmed by DfT in March 2024.

North East MPs and transport leaders are backing a new £19.5m bid to decarbonise transport through the delivery of new electric buses and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facilities.

We're using Active Travel Fund to provide more space to pedestrians and cyclists, mainly through the reallocation of road space through a mixture of temporary and permanent schemes.
